Pebbles came to live with us in September 2006.
We were hoping she would be a new friend for our domestic shorthair Saar, who had just lost her mom in April 2006 and was still in mourning.
Luckily the two bonded fairly quickly and became best friends! Saar started her second youth and still lives with us now at age 11 but still acting as a kitten and totally happy.
Pebbles is a usual abyssian out of respected usual lines and she has a lovely personality.
Like most aby's she's not really a lapcat but loves to stay close to you and has her moments of cuddling you all over.
Her best points are her profile, ear setting and long well-shaped tail. I think in type she is a bit on the skinny side but this is my personal taste. Judges aren't too happy with her colour; they think she's quite pale. For me this is one of her best features because this makes her very suitable to breed silvers and that was my first aim; to set up a completely new silver line.
She's helped us to do so with her first litter in 2008. We kept one of her girls and called her Aysun van Sartum. She has grown up to be a very spectacular silver and the next step in our silver program.
Before we let Pebbles have a litter we took her to a few shows. Every time she was 'excellent' and one time even a BIV (Best in Variety) and BIS (Best in Show). She also has a CAC (Championship point) She needs 3 CAC's to be awarded the title 'Champion'. But she is fed up with showing so bad luck for us. This year (2010) at age 4 she is neutered and retired from breeding and showing. She will continue to live with us as our beloved pet.
